Admission and Requirements

There are two possible ways in which a student can be a part of the WASP-HS Graduate School. Either by being recruited to a WASP-HS-funded research project or by being an affiliated PhD student. Each way is described below.

PhD Students in WASP-HS Projects

The PhD Students which are being recruited by a WASP-HS-funded research project are included in the WASP-HS Graduate School. These PhD Students may take part in the different activities hosted by the Graduate School such as courses, summer schools, and conferences.

Affiliated PhD Students

The PhD Students which are affiliated with WASP-HS are not funded by the WASP-HS program. In these cases, the employing university has full responsibility for the financing of the student including salary, office space, indirect costs, regular travel costs, and travel costs to all WASP-HS courses and activities. Alike WASP-HS-funded PhD Students, affiliated PhD Students may take part in the different activities hosted by the Graduate School such as courses, summer schools, and conferences.

Requirements

• The PhD students in the WASP-HS program are required to take a minimum of four courses offered by the graduate school (that will be in the range 2-3 ECTS) and to participate in the summer schools and winter conferences.
• The supervisor and employing university guarantee that students will have the opportunity to participate in all courses and activities of the WASP-HS graduate school.
• The supervisor commits to actively contribute to the activities of WASP-HS.

After graduation, all students that satisfy these requirements will get a WASP-HS PhD Certificate/Diploma.
