A Human-AI Approach to Misinformation Detection in the Context of News Reporting on the Ukrainian War
The project aims to investigate the effectiveness of AI-driven approaches for misinformation detection in news articles covering events related to the Russian-Ukrainian war. This study seeks to contribute to the development of more robust AI-assisted misinformation detection frameworks by integrating hybrid human-AI methodologies.
The project follows three key steps:
1. Building a diverse news dataset – We collect news articles covering major events related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. These articles come from well-known media sources across the USA, the EU, Asia, Ukraine, and Russia.
2. Annotating for accuracy and trustworthiness – Experts analyze the articles to label them based on their meaning and reliability, helping to distinguish between trustworthy and misleading content.
3. Using Human-AI collaboration – We apply a combination of human expertise and AI technology to detect and categorize misinformation in the news.
