Title

AI and Justice: Towards the Algorithmic Addiction

About the project

The growing dependence on smart algorithms in the public and private spheres and that how artificial intelligence changes human habits, ways of acting and thinking requires to research of how this addiction manifests itself in justice. The goal of research is to identify the changes caused by AI in justice systems and how they meet general justice requirements. Since the general requirements for justice may vary from system to system, the framework for comparison is the human rights framework. This framework based on the concept of human (fundamental) rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and developed in the Charter of EU Rights as well as the judicial practice of the most authoritative judicial institutions. The focal points are common law systems in which AI tools are used to make risk assessment in judicial processes and continental law systems in which AI tools are used to partially automate judicial processes.
