WASP-HS Call
Project Initiation Grants
Open for applications until May 30, 2025
The vision of Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program – Humanity and Society (WASP-HS) is to foster novel interdisciplinary knowledge in the humanities and social sciences about AI and autonomous systems and their impact on human and social development. This call aims to stimulate novel, multi-disciplinary research within that domain. Applications for developing research-collaboration with companies and/or public authorities are also welcome.
This call supports emerging research ideas on problems that require a multi- or interdisciplinary approach. Collaborations can focus on specific research questions; conceptual, methodological, or theoretical issues; or other scientific inquiries.
Examples of activities that can be supported include joint meetings, workshops, short guest visits, outreach activities, and demonstration projects.
Funding for up to 250,000 SEK can be requested (incl. 18,5% indirect costs).
Conditions
- Each project must have at least two applicants, one of which must have an affiliation with WASP-HS. Affiliation with WASP-HS could mean any of the following:
– WASP-HS-funded position
– PI or project member of a WASP-HS-funded or affiliated project, including WASP-HS projects funded by the MAW or MMW
– Supervisor of a WASP-HS-funded or affiliated doctoral student
– Instructor of a WASP-HS course
– Speaker at or organizer of a WASP-HS workshop, conference, or meeting - The applicants must come from at least two different Swedish universities/institutes.
- Project start: No later than 1 January 2026
- Project end: No later than 31 May 2026
- Application deadline: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until 30 May 2025.
