Critical AI in Higher Education – Limitations and Risks

Unfolding current practices, needs
and critical approaches in AI tools usage within doctoral education

AI has become an important part of research and research education thanks to the ever-expanding range of tools and applications becoming available all the time. At the same time AI poses challenges to research with relation to data management, privacy and even hallucinations! Within research education there is an expectation that doctoral candidates should produce their own text, which can be difficult to assess when powerful AI tools are used.

This workshop is designed for students and supervisors with two separate but interconnected aims:

For PhD students:

Mapping out current practices, experiences, needs and expectations related to the use of AI within WASP HS graduate school community;

For supervisors:
2) Draft a Critical AI education manifesto for doctoral education, focused on discussion over: what is critical (in terms of knowledge, practices, theories, perspectives, actors, actions) in critical AI education, what methods and tools can be used, how do we harness it within the WASP HS community?
