WASP-HS Nordic Collaborative Workshops

WASP-HS aims to stimulate new research collaborations and projects among researchers in Nordic countries in an effort to strengthen research in the region. We invite applications to organize a series of Nordic collaborative workshops focusing on the social and human impact and consequences of AI and autonomous systems.
Workshops should focus on novel research areas within the social sciences and humanities and engage researchers from at least three Nordic countries. Already established networks, or workshops drawing on established and ongoing activities are not covered by this call.
A workshop series should consist of 2-3 workshops over a period of 18 months. Applicants should seek gender balance among its participants and participants from all career stages. Multidisciplinary collaboration is encouraged. The workshop format is flexible.
Funding between 200,000 SEK and 500,000 SEK can be requested.
Please note that the grant must be administered by a university or research institute in Sweden and can only cover justified costs related to organising the workshops and disseminating the results.
Conditions
- Participating researchers must be based at universities or research institutes in at least 3 Nordic countries, one of which must be Sweden.
- The university/institute in Sweden should be appointed grant administrator.
- Project start: within 6-12 months after the application is submitted
- Project duration: 18 months
- The grant cannot be used for salaries.
- Indirect costs of up to 18.5% on approved operating expenses can be included.
- Applicants and co-applicants must hold PhDs.
- Applicants and co-applicants cannot be listed as participating researchers on other applications.
- Researchers cannot submit more than one application.
