Research Project

AI and the Everyday Political Economy of Global Health

The aim of Assistant Professor Jason Tucker’s research project is to investigate the rapid proliferation of AI-based technologies in global healthcare amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The project seeks to analyze the implications of transnational ownership of private health data and the political economy surrounding it, including issues of control, power distribution, and regulatory challenges. Ultimately, the project aims to inform discussions and develop strategies for navigating the complex intersection of AI, healthcare, and societal governance on both national and global levels.
