The Emergence of Complex Intelligent Systems and the Future of Management
As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integral to our society, its influence on infrastructures and daily life continues to grow. However, this reliance also makes us more vulnerable to potential flaws in these systems. Despite the critical role AI plays, there is still limited understanding of how individuals, systems, and organisations interact within this evolving landscape.
This project aims to provide valuable insights into managing future organisations in the context of AI and complex intelligent systems. The research will explore how organisations can make informed decisions about these systems, design their structures, collaborate within ecosystems, and effectively navigate the complexities involved.
Additionally, the project seeks to offer new perspectives on decision-making, with a particular focus on ethical considerations. By integrating technology and management perspectives, the project will address not only technical and operational aspects but also the social dimensions of AI integration.
The project’s ecosystem is a multidisciplinary collaboration that includes management researchers, AI experts, and industry practitioners. Future scenarios, such as demonstration arenas for technology research and industrial applications, will be studied to provide practical insights and guidance for managing organisations in an AI-driven world.
