Information About the New Wallenberg Program WASP-ED

Published: April 19, 2022

On April 20, an information meeting about the new Wallenberg program WASP-ED, a joint initiative between WASP-HS and the sister program WASP, will be held online. The purpose of the open information meeting is to give an overview of WASP-ED and provide an opportunity to ask questions and discuss with the leaders of six different working areas of the program.

An interdisciplinary group of WASP-HS and WASP researchers jointly wrote a grant application to start WASP-ED (Wallenberg AI and Transformative Technologies Education Development Program). WASP-HS representative, Associate Professor Anna Foka says:

– With WASP-ED we will, among other things, focus on courses where we can include AI and similar tools to strengthen and broaden knowledge. This applies, for example, to courses and programs that train doctors, economists and teachers.

In December 2021, it was announced that the programs would receive SEK 18.6 million from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation. The millions will now be used to start WASP-ED with the aim of increasing Swedish universities’ ability and capacity to provide up-to-date and relevant education in AI.

The meeting is open for everyone, attend the open information meeting here.
