Open Call for Workshops for AI for Humanity and Society 2024

Published: February 21, 2024

WASP-HS invites researchers and practitioners to participate in shaping the dialogue surrounding artificial intelligence (AI). To facilitate vibrant discussions and interactions with, and within, the community, WASP-HS has opened a call for workshops, welcoming proposals until 1 April.

“WASP-HS workshops serve as a hub where attendees converge to cultivate focused discussions. They offer a unique opportunity to connect with individuals who share your passions, concerns, and research objectives, fostering a collaborative environment for intellectual exchange and growth.” says Marie Eneman, workshop call chair and jury, as well as Associate Professor in Informatics at the University of Gothenburg.

The workshops will be held alongside the annual WASP-HS conference, AI for Humanity and Society 2024, scheduled to take place at the Lindholmen Conference Centre in Gothenburg on November 19 and 20. Specifically, all workshops are slated to occur at the University of Gothenburg on November 19, preceding the opening of the main conference.

Under the theme “Creating Shared AI Futures,” the aim of the conference is to critically examine the emerging and potential applications of AI. Proposals for workshops must align with this theme and may cover a wide range of topics relevant to the WASP-HS community. This includes subjects such as  interdisciplinary methods, ethics, fairness, policy, art, social media, innovation, democracy, finance, public sector, emerging AI applications, law, politics, gambling, geography, history, and economics.

Submit your workshop proposal and contribute to shaping the future of AI research and development.
