AI, Structural Change, and the Future of Work
The use of generative AI, AI-job matching algorithms, and industrial robots is increasing. How does this affect the labor market and how we work? How can we make sure that the productivity gains from AI technology are shared fairly and support a strong, stable job market? These questions are explored within the WASP-HS research environment AI, Structural Change, and the Future of Work.
Vision
The vision of AI, Structural Change, and the Future of Work is to serve as a natural center point for Swedish research on how AI, autonomous systems and software developments affect the labor market. The researchers within the environment facilitates informed actions and decisions by policymakers and other stakeholders such as firms, unions and individual workers to conduct their work.
Mission
The mission of AI, Structural Change, and the Future of Work is to:
- Foster research to understand how AI and new technologies are changing jobs and the labor market.
- Study how the Swedish labor market evolves over time, also in relation to international markets.
- Develop new frameworks to explain how society changes as technology develops.
- Facilitate dialogue between researchers, companies, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Develop, and make available, useful policy insights on how to manage AI in a fair and effective way.
