WASP-HS is developing the Collaboration Arena Welfare in dialogue with The Swedish Social Insurance Agency, The Swedish Tax Agency, Public Employment Service, and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, among other organizations. A call for researchers to join the collaboration arena is now open and will close on January 30, 2026.
The implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in the welfare sector presents practical challenges and opportunities. These developments offer a rich context in which to investigate research questions about the consequences for humanity and society.
WASP-HS will launch the Collaboration Arena Welfare (Samverkansarena välfärd) to support research addressing practical challenges in the public sector while deepening understanding of AI’s consequences for society, organizations, and individuals. Researchers engaged through this call will conduct research in close collaboration with one or more of the arena’s organizations, including but not limited to, the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket), the Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen), and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (Sveriges kommuner och regioner, SKR). The collaboration arena will also serve as a broader forum for exchange between the public sector and academia, where WASP-HS Collaboration Arena researchers will play a leading role.
