WASP-HS is funding a Research Network on Artificial Intelligence and War, which will be based at the Swedish Defence University. The aim is to support social science and humanities research on the use and implications of AI and autonomous systems in war.

The uses of AI and autonomous systems in conflict are unquestionably among their most consequential societal applications, yet their study remains fragmented across disciplines and institutionally thin in Sweden. The WASP‑HS Research Network aims to set the agenda and build capacity for emerging Swedish research on AI and autonomous systems in military conflict and to establish international links with Nordic and European partners.

Through annual workshops and seminars, the network will facilitate the exchange of ideas, dissemination of research results, and academic collaboration in this multidisciplinary field of research.
