WASP-HS Project Initiation Grants

Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program – Humanity and Society (WASP-HS) fosters novel interdisciplinary knowledge about AI and autonomous systems and their impact on humanity and society.

This call supports innovative ideas within the WASP-HS domain that address a gap in international research and require a multi- or interdisciplinary approach. As these grants are intended for project initiation, proposed activities should lay the groundwork for developing new lines of research and competitive national and/or international funding applications.

Proposals should be based on a specific research question. Examples of activities that can be supported include meetings, workshops, and demonstration projects. International participation is welcome.

Funding between 50,000 and 500,000 SEK can be requested.

Conditions

· Each project must have at least two applicants from at least two different disciplines. One university/institute should be appointed grant administrator.

· Project start: within 6 months after notification of the award

· Project duration: 6 months

· Indirect costs up to 18,5% and LKP 50% can be included.

· Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis.

· A researcher can only have one application under review at a given time.

· Recipients will be asked to submit a brief report at the end of the funding period, summarizing accomplishments and detailing next steps.
