How is collaboration, work, power and human agency being reshaped in a world increasingly driven by artificial intelligence (AI)? On October 9–10, WASP-HS welcomes researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers to the conference AI for Humanity and Society 2025, at Stockholm School of Economics, to explore the shifting dynamics of power, participation, and responsibility. Registration is now open.
AI is no longer just a tool — it’s a transformative force reshaping institutions, labor, relationships, and decision-making. This shift raises urgent questions: How can we ensure it strengthens human dignity and social cohesion? What new human-machine collaborations are emerging, and how can they be designed to foster justice, autonomy, and resilience?
This year’s WASP-HS conference AI for Humanity and Society, themed “The Great Transformation: Collaboration, Work and Agency in the Age of AI”, will explore how individuals, organizations, and societies can navigate this rapidly evolving landscape. Together with the conference chairs Magnus Mähring, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Digital Innovation at the Stockholm School of Economics, and Lisen Selander, Professor of Information Systems at the University of Gothenburg, WASP-HS opens the doors at Stockholm School of Economics on October 9 and 10.
From the Conference Program
The program features keynote speeches, panel discussions, lightning talks and networking opportunities. Gillian Tett, Provost of King’s College, University of Cambridge, will speak about AI innovation and societal resilience in a multipolar world. Juliane Reinecke, Professor of Management Studies, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford will speak about how we can create desirable futures through disciplined imagination and prospective hindsight.
How are algorithms shaping our working lives? Are they promoting fairness—or reinforcing injustice? These questions will be at the heart of three panel discussions exploring the growing influence of AI and algorithms in workplaces and organizations.
The conference will also highlight recent findings from WASP-HS research, along with the launch of new research clusters that will shape the direction of the program in the years ahead.
