More than 100 WASP‑HS PhD students, newly graduated doctors, and supervisors gathered at Lund University on 4–6 February for the WASP‑HS Winter Conference 2026. Three days of workshops, presentations, and networking focused on how AI shapes, and is shaped by, humanity and society.
The WASP-HS Winter Conference 2026 brought together researchers from across Sweden to exchange ideas, discuss ongoing projects, and explore new avenues for cross-disciplinary work. Through workshops, presentations, and poster sessions, participants were encouraged to connect across institutional and disciplinary boundaries.
Automated Interactions Intervening in Daily Life
What happens to society when interactions become automated and digital agents increasingly intervene in daily life? This question took center stage at the WASP‑HS Annual Exchange 2026, where newly graduated WASP‑HS PhD students met with an internationally renowned researcher for a forward‑looking conversation on the social implications of AI.
This year’s invited expert, Professor Brit Ross Winthereik from the Department of Technology, Management and Economics at the Technical University of Denmark, joined three newly minted PhDs whose research explores the intersection of technology, society, and public institutions.
Representing the latest cohort of WASP‑HS graduates were:
- Kashyap Haresamudram, PhD in Technology and Society, Lund University
- Charlotte Högberg, PhD in Technology and Society, Lund University
- Malin Heintz, PhD in Economics, The Employment Agency
Together, the panelists examined how automated systems and digital agents reshape human interactions—whether in public‑sector services, workplaces, or everyday life.

Celebrating New WASP-HS Doctors
